It’s my pleasure to draw your attention to the Business, Conflict & Human Rights Course 2017 organized by swisspeace and Safestainable in collaboration with the University of Basel from Thursday–Saturday, 23-25 November 2017.
This course is designed for professionals from business, civil society and governmental institutions. It sheds light on the roles and strategies of companies, governments, international organizations and civil society in promoting responsible business practices in fragile and conflict-affected contexts:
- Learn and exchange about challenges and best practices for businesses in conflict contexts and key human rights risks emerging from business operations.
- Become familiar with state of the art context and impact analysis tools.
- Exchange and discuss implementation challenges with experienced practitioners from swisspeace, Safestainable and high-level representatives from companies, governments and civil society organizations.
This course is an ideal preparation and complement to the participation in the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights, taking place in Geneva in the days after the course Monday–Wednesday, 27-29 November 2017.
