After several weeks of frantic activity, this week we closed our programme of activities so that we can have it printed in time for the forum.
With almost 100 speakers confirmed at the time of writing, from places as diverse as Cameroon, Iraq, Chile and the United States, and from all over Europe, distributed among 21 working areas, and with the support of around 50 organisations, action fronts, movements and networks, and hundreds of individual participants, the forum promises to be an exciting cauldron of activity in which activists can learn from the experience of others and contribute their own experiences, creating a common intelligence that all of us can take from the forum back to our areas of social and political activism.
Seminar / Conference
16-22 September 2018 | European Youth Centre Budapest, Hungary
This project aims to train youth workers and leaders that work with young people, how to encourage their respective beneficiaries to interact more by creating and sharing digital stories, online campaigns or learning about e-Activism.
Everyone has a story to tell, and those digital stories are always very powerful, since in many cases they highlight very important issues, such as violence, discrimination or a struggle to find one’s place in the society. They also break down barriers as in our experience a unifying cause or message can often overcome ethnic or society divisions.
18-22 September 2018 | Romania
SOHO aims at enhancing quality of Volunteering Activities through development of essential competences of support persons. It also provides up-to-date information on the new EU initiative European Solidarity Corps to support volunteering for young people.
The SOHO training course is designed for those who are directly involved in the support system around the Volunteering Activities (formlery called EVS) – e.g. mentors and task-related support persons – on the hosting, sending and coordinating side. The support people play a crucial role in providing conditions for a quality voluntary service and creating opportunities for volunteer’s learning in Volunteering Activities.

The Balkan Youth Forum is a non-formal learning program for youth from diverse types of Balkan states, designed by a very young team of alumni of the Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellowship program, aged 18 to 21 and funded by the Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund. It brings together 2 participants, aged 16 to 18, from each Balkan country for an intensive week of lectures, debates, workshops, simulations and meetings with representatives of the European Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant institutions and organizations. BYF combines peer-to-peer learning, edutainment and volunteering. The purpose of these activities is helping participants form a more profound understanding of the past and present of the Balkans, to shape a personal opinion on the importance of cooperation and to inspire them to take action. At the end of the program, the participants will present their own projects for sustainable cooperation between their communities, which they will later implement in their own countries with the help of their BYF mentors.
